Best of 2013

Surprise! If you're a frequent visitor, you'll notice that I redesigned the website... basically from scratch. It honestly took me a whole year to figure out exactly what I wanted and how to make it as easy and clean to navigate as possible.

All the pages have been refreshed, new widgets have been added, but my personal favourite is the static navigation bar on top. I'm still tweaking little things and have a few more changes to implement, but I'll announce them as they happen. I really hope you like the new look! Feedback is key, so I'd love to hear what you think in the comments.

2013 was a whirlwind and quite possibly one of my BEST years. I'll always remember this one as the year I realized how important quality and leisure time is. We often push our limits with our never-ending task list and sign up for more than what we should be doing, so it's good to take some time off for yourself and your loved ones every now and then. That is what matters most.

Don't get me wrong, I love to work and really enjoy blogging. They both have a big impact on my daily routine, but recently I've made it a point to balance it all without sacrificing any particular item as a whole. I'm blessed to have parents that care so much, a fiancé who supports me 100%, my wonderfully smart brothers, and everyone else who loves me unconditionally.

On to things more relevant to the blog... out of the MANY style posts I did this year, I've compiled my top FIVE favourite looks that I thought you might enjoy:

#5 Rustic Fall: I became obsessed with that coat the moment I laid eyes on it. This outfit was thrown together very last minute, but all the colours came out looking beautiful together and really great for fall. The blue garage door made the grey pop even more.

#4 Festival Look: While my style changes a lot, I would never really call it bohemian, but this festival look challenge gave me the chance to experiment a little and I came up with this girly yet boho number. I'm such a big fan of colour and it truly shows in this outfit.

#3 Crochet Me Up: This was a very popular one among my readers and at events. I had the opportunity to wear it at a friend's party as well as a media event, and it was well received by both crowds. The crochet top is a staple in my closet now and I'm so glad I decided to buy it. Can't say the same for that bag and those shoes though, they're both so dirty now. :(

#2 Floral Gingham Pumps: Surprise, surprise? Not really. I had a lot of fun putting this look together, I believe it was the first time I was wearing bright red pants and had JUST got those floral gingham pumps. It was excitement overload, and I was so thrilled when it went viral on Chictopia for more than a week!

#1 The Boys Look: This is by far my favourite look to-date. Creating a mens fashion-inspired outfit was a challenge that I definitely didn't want to miss out on and I'm so happy with how the photos turned out. I'm always so picky about accessories matching, so I had to make sure to have similar coloured shoes and belt. The burgundy tie was a nice touch. With my hair up like that I look barely recognizable!

Thank you for a fun, inspiring and creative year! Looking forward to 2014. :)
