Holiday Beauty Gift Guide: Everything Under $100

Monday, November 23, 2015

Oh, Christmas Tree! It's that time of the year again where we chit-chat about fun gift ideas for the beauty lover in your life. I always get excited about making these lists because it's my time to share what I've loved throughout the year that I feel would make an excellent gift for a special someone, a friend or even a family member!

This Holiday Beauty Gift Guide includes five ideas including makeup and skincare items, as well as a special kit that any man would love, and a little something for your furry friend. The best part: everything on this list is under $100! I promise that all items have been tested and I would not be sharing them with you if I didn't love them myself. Here we go!

Quo Contouring Craze Deluxe Contour Kit, $30 CAD: These days I've been finding it a bit tough to find bronzer without any shimmer or sparkles, but this 3-item kit is perfect if you're looking for a matte contouring palette. It includes a brown contour, an orange-beige bronzer and a creamy highlight. It's the perfect blend for your everyday look, but lately I've also been wearing it to holiday-related dinner parties. The kit also comes with an angled and tapered brush that I accidentally forgot to photograph, but they are super soft and blend well!

Benefit Cosmetics Party Popper (Big 12 Advent Calendar), $54 CAD: I'll admit I'm a sucker for advent calendars, and I look forward to Benefit's every year! They compile a selection of their best products and present them in pocket-sized cuties in a fun, creative way. This year the Party Popper advent calendar includes: The Porefessional Pro Balm, BadGal Lash Mascara, Lollitint Tinted Lip & Cheek Stain, Ooh La Lift Instant Under-Eye Brightening Boost, They're Real! Mascara, High Beam Complexion Highlighter, Total Moisture Facial Cream, Ultra Plush Hoola Lip Gloss, Ultra Plush Sugarbomb Lip Gloss, Watt's Up Highlighter, They're Real! Remover, Rockateur Cheek Powder. Trust me, you won't regret getting this as a gift for your girlfriend or mom.

L'Occitane Hand Cream Bouquet, $60 CAD: If you didn't already know, I am telling you now that L'Occitane has some of the BEST hand creams. I keep one with me at all times in my handbag, another one at my work desk and an extra one by my makeup area. This is the ultimate gift that will keep your hands moisturized throughout 2016, so why not invest in this bouquet? It includes 6 hand creams including the original formula, as well as other fun scents.

Too Faced Le Grand Palais, $72 CAD: Besides how stunning the packaging is (my niece calls it the 'dollhouse makeup kit'), there is a lot more to the presentation itself. This palette by Too Faced includes 18 eye shadows, a bronzer, 2 blushes, a mini-sized Better Than Sex mascara, 1 Melted Lipstick and a deluxe Shadow Insurance. Even though it's a slightly higher price-point, it can be justified because of all the goodies you get... combined into a cute kit!

Caudalie Premier Cru Anti-Aging Set, $99 CAD: The older I get, the more I realize how important it is to invest in good skincare products. I discovered Caudalie last year and became obsessed with the Beauty Elixir; it's misty goodness soothes my face every morning before I apply my makeup. This year I started trying more of their products, including the Premier Cru Eye Cream and Premier Cru Face Cream. Both are very soft and soothing to the touch, and also have this really pleasant, and have showcased proven results of preventing and decreasing puffiness, dark circles around the eyes and wrinkles. Each item is quite pricey, but the set comes for a pretty decent price-point for the holidays!

Saje Pocket Pharmacy Kit, $59.95 CAD: Earlier this year I got James this travel-size kit that helps with various different things: tummy aches, stuffy noses/cold/flu, as well as quick pain relief. It consists of five of Saje's most popular items in roll-ons: Peppermint Halo, Immune, Eater's Digest, Stress Release and Pain Release. He didn't really understand how it would help at first, but found himself using it throughout the year, more often than he thought he'd need. Another added bonus: if he keeps it with him in his work bag, everytime he opens it, the soothing, natural scent will remind him of you. ;)

Petsmile Beef-Flavor Toothpaste, $29.99 CAD, and Petsmile Toothpaste Applicator Swabs, $11.99 CAD: If you own a dog (or any pet), you probably know that it can be a bit difficult to get them to brush their teeth, eat medicine, etc. Wait... I think babies are like that too. However, Petsmile has created an easier process for brushing your dog's teeth, by using applicator swabs instead of a toothbrush! Frenzi, our American Eskimo, was hesitant at first because it did seem like we were giving him medicine, but once he tried the flavour, he calmed down and enjoyed the teeth-cleaning process a little more.

I hope you enjoyed my beauty-related Holiday Gift Guide! If you're looking to get something with a specific price-point or category of makeup/skincare, I'd love to help. Feel free to tweet me @SummerxSkin and we can chat gift ideas. :)
