C O L O U R F U L Summer Makeup Look

Tuesday, July 25, 2017

Well, I had all these high hopes for summer but then it decided to rain almost EVERY single day. I couldn't go to the beach as much I wanted, but the weather didn't stop me from playing with colourful makeup!

This has been my go-to for the last few weeks; here is why I'm loving these Lancome goodies.

Lancome Grandiose Liners: When I first got these and tried to familiarize myself with the packaging, I thought I broke one! The applicator is designed to pivot side to side, allowing you to create the perfect cat eye. I found that to be quite smart.

Putting that amusing fact aside, lets discuss the formula of these liners. I got sent four colours: Ceruleen Metallique (blue), Fuschia Matte (pink), Silver Snow and Vert Metallique (green). At first I was bummed not having black to test out, as that is what I wear most often, but this got me out of my comfort zone and made me play with other shades.

Each liner is very pigmented, true to its colour, and depending on the one you choose, some show up more matte while others are shiny/metallic -- like the Vert Metallique I'm wearing on my lids in these photos. I find them very long-lasting, as I have to go in with an oil-based remover at the end of the night to take them off! They definitely aren't cheap, but I would definitely give them a go if you have a hard time finding good eyeliner.

Lancome Matte Shaker High Pigmented Liquid Lipstick: Remember when I was obsessed with the Juicy Shakers? Well, the brand did it again this summer with these lip stains... they have literally not left my purse since I first got them a couple of months ago. Not only do they come in a beautiful summery shade range, they are EXTREMELY pigmented, work well with lip gloss, are super long lasting and do not budge until you have to scrub the colour off!

The three shades I've been using are Pink Power, Kiss Me Cherie and Yummy Pink. These, my friends, are worth every penny. I'm going to be picking up more colours soon.

The contrast between the green eyeliner and pink lips has people swooning on the streets. Everytime I wear this look, I get complimented on my makeup AND skincare. Somehow I think these colours also bring out the warmth in my complexion, which can't hurt... right?

However, there is one more step to this look and that is...

Lancome Grandiose Extreme Mascara in Bleu Nuit: A pop of navy blue on my lashes! This helps emphasize the metallic green more, and draws attention to the bold eyes. I began experimenting with blue mascara a few years ago, almost accidentally, and now it's one of my go-to looks when I don't want to spend hours blending shadows together.

There are definitely a lot of alternatives with blue mascara and you don't have to spend $40 to get this look, but this Lancome mascara gives you a lot of volume + depth and is long-lasting, but not impossible to remove.
